Terms of Sale

Last updated: 26 September 2026

These terms apply when you buy from Pip Leaf on this website. Please read them before you order. They are written to be read, not to be clever: if anything is unclear, email us before you buy. They include our Shipping & Delivery section, and they sit alongside our Refunds & Cancellations policy and our Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are

Waka Digital Limited, trading as Pip Leaf
A limited company registered in New Zealand · Company number 1885497 · NZBN 9429033751610
Registered office and address for service: c/- Astute Accounting Services Limited, 73a Boundary Road, Claudelands, Hamilton 3214, New Zealand [KARAR: T2 — bu adres müşteri yazışması için kullanılabilir mi; iade adresi değildir]
GST number: 095-481-728
Email: [DOLDURULACAK: iletişim e-postası (pipleaf.com alınınca; T4)]

“We”, “us” and “Pip Leaf” mean Waka Digital Limited. “You” means the person placing the order. You buy from us as a consumer, for yourself or as a gift. If you buy for a business, see section 14.

2. Where we sell from this website

From this website we sell to customers in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Printed books are sent only to an address in the country you choose at checkout, and prices are shown in that country’s currency.

  • The newborn book (ages 0–3) is not available for delivery to the United States.
  • Québec: [KARAR: T5/A7 — Québec'e satış açık mı; açıksa sözleşme önce Fransızca sunulmalı]
  • Customers in Germany and the rest of the European Union cannot order from this website; where our books are offered there, it is through other shops with their own terms.

3. What we sell

  • Personalised picture book with a ready-made character. You choose one of our characters and give us your child’s first name; you can add a short dedication. The story is printed in two languages side by side: English and the language you choose.
  • Ready-made bilingual picture book. The same story for every child, with no name added, where offered.
  • Formats. A 32-page softcover book, 20×20 cm (about 8 × 8 in), or a PDF to read on a screen or print at home. Only the formats shown on the product page can be ordered. Colours on screen and in print can differ slightly.
  • Digital copy with a printed book. When you buy a printed personalised book, a PDF copy of the same book is included free of charge and sent by email.

Books with your child’s photo are not on sale yet. We do not ask for or accept photos at this time. Before we offer them, we will update these terms and our Privacy Policy (section 8 there sets out the rules that will apply).

How our books are made, and the use of AI. Our stories are drafted and our pictures made with the help of AI tools (Google Gemini), then checked page by page before a book is offered for sale. No details from your order are sent to an AI service to make a character book: your child’s name and dedication are set into pages that have already been drawn and checked.

Product pages show pictures of example books made for fictional children. Your book has the same story and pictures, with the name and dedication you give us.

4. Made to order and personalised

Every book is printed on demand for your order; we hold no stock. A personalised book is made to your specifications and carries your child’s name, so it cannot be resold. This affects your cancellation rights (see our Refunds & Cancellations policy).

  • Your details are printed as you give them. The name (up to 20 characters) and dedication (up to 250 characters) are printed exactly as you type them and approve them in the preview. Please check spelling, capitals and accents.
  • What we may refuse. We may refuse a name or dedication that is offensive, hateful, sexual, unlawful, that names a trade mark or a public figure, or that infringes someone else’s rights. If we refuse, we tell you and, if you prefer not to change it, refund you in full.
  • What you promise us. The details you give us are yours to give, and you have the permission of the child’s parent or guardian where you are not one yourself.

5. Your order and when the contract is made

Before you pay, the checkout shows your book, your choices, the price, delivery and any tax, and you can go back and correct any of them. Payment is taken by Stripe on its secure checkout page; your card details never reach us.

The contract between you and us is made when your payment is successfully completed and the order confirmation page is shown. We also send a confirmation by email with these terms (or a link to them) and your order details; please keep it.

If, after payment, we find that we cannot make your book (for example, a technical problem with the name or dedication, or the book is no longer available), we will tell you by email and refund you in full.

6. Prices, currency and taxes

Prices are shown in the currency of the delivery country: USD, GBP, CAD, AUD or NZD. Delivery is charged per order and shown before you pay [KARAR: A1 — UK'de teslim ücreti başlık fiyatına dahil gösterilmeli mi (DMCC)]. The total on Stripe’s checkout page is the amount you are charged. Your bank may charge its own fees for card payments in another currency.

  • New Zealand: prices include GST (15%).
  • Australia: we are not registered for Australian GST, so no GST is added to the price.
  • United Kingdom: printed children’s picture books are zero-rated for VAT. [DOLDURULACAK: A2 — UK KDV kaydı durumu ve fatura/fiyat satırı (PDF ve poster %20)]
  • United States and Canada: prices do not include sales tax. Where we are required to collect sales tax, GST/HST or provincial sales tax, it is calculated and shown at checkout before you pay.

If a price on our website is clearly wrong because of an obvious error, we will tell you before we make the book and you can choose to go ahead at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

7. Preview and approval for personalised books

After you pay for a personalised book, we email you a preview PDF of the whole book [KARAR: önizleme gönderim süresi (SHOP'ta yok, ölçülmedi)]. Please check the name, the dedication and every page.

  • If you want a change to the details you gave us — name, dedication, character, girl or boy, or which language is on the left — reply within 24 hours of the preview email. We make the change and send you a new preview. Changes at this stage are free, for up to 2 rounds [KARAR: 24.09 md. 4 kararı — vaat olarak kullanıcı onayı bekliyor].
  • You can also reply to approve the preview straight away.
  • If we do not hear from you within 24 hours, the book goes to print (or, for the PDF format, the preview becomes your final file) [KARAR: A4 — sessiz onay tüketici hukukunda geçerli mi].
  • If the preview email cannot be delivered (for example, it bounces), the 24 hours do not start. We will try to reach you another way before anything is printed.

A ready-made book has no preview: it goes to print once you have paid.

8. Shipping & Delivery

Who prints and ships your book

Books are printed and shipped by our print partner, Gelato, at a print facility it chooses near the delivery address. Books for Australia are currently printed in New Zealand. Gelato acts for us: your contract is with Waka Digital Limited, and we remain responsible to you for your book.

How long it takes

A personalised book goes to print after you approve the preview or the 24-hour window ends (section 7); a ready-made book goes to print after payment. Printing usually takes a few working days [KARAR: baskı süresi — Gelato'dan ölçülecek, SHOP'ta yok]. After printing, delivery usually takes:

  • The United States: 6 working days after printing
  • The United Kingdom: 4–5 working days after printing
  • Canada: 8–10 working days after printing
  • Australia: 5–6 working days after printing
  • New Zealand: 3 working days after printing

These are our print partner’s usual delivery times, not guaranteed dates. Busy periods, such as the weeks before Christmas, can take longer. Our last order dates for Christmas delivery, which we also show on the website while orders are open:

  • The United States: order by 3 December
  • Canada: order by 27 November
  • Australia: order by 3 December
  • New Zealand: order by 8 December

Delays

If we learn that your book will not reach you within the time shown at checkout, we will email you with a new estimate and you can choose to wait or cancel for a full refund. If the book has not arrived 10 working days after the latest expected date, we treat it as lost [KARAR: 24.09 md. 4 kararı — vaat olarak kullanıcı onayı bekliyor]: see our Refunds & Cancellations policy.

Tracking, addresses and delivery

  • We email you a tracking link when the book ships, where the carrier provides one.
  • Please check your delivery address before you pay. If a book is returned to us or lost because the address you gave was wrong or incomplete, a replacement is charged at cost.
  • The book becomes yours, and risk passes to you, when it is delivered to your address.
  • The PDF format and the free digital copy are sent by email; there is no shipping.

Customs and import charges

Books are printed in or near the delivery country, so we do not expect customs duties. [KARAR: teslimde gümrük/vergi çıkarsa kim öder — AU siparişi NZ'den gidiyor]

9. Cancellations, refunds and faulty books

Our Refunds & Cancellations policy is part of these terms. It explains when you can cancel, your statutory cancellation rights in the United Kingdom, what happens if a book arrives damaged or has a mistake, and how refunds are paid.

10. Your consumer rights

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any right you have under consumer law that cannot be limited or excluded. Where these terms and such a law differ, the law wins.

  • New Zealand: the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986 apply. Among other things, our goods must be of acceptable quality, fit for purpose and match their description.
  • Australia: the Australian Consumer Law applies.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

  • United Kingdom: under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and digital content must meet the same standards. If they are not, you have legal remedies, which can include a right to reject faulty goods within 30 days, a repair or replacement, or a price reduction or refund. You also have statutory cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, explained in our Refunds & Cancellations policy. For independent advice, contact Citizens Advice.
  • Canada: you keep the rights your province gives you, including under the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002 and similar laws on internet sales.
  • United States: you keep the rights your state gives you, including implied warranties where they cannot be excluded.

11. Copyright and what you may do with the book and PDF

The stories, text, characters and pictures are protected by copyright and other rights, which stay with us or our licensors [KARAR: A11 — AI ile üretilen içerikte telif iddiasının kapsamı]. The name and dedication you give us remain yours. When you buy a book or a PDF, or receive a preview, we give you a personal, non-transferable licence to:

  • read the PDF on your own devices and print copies at home for your family;
  • share it privately with family members, for example grandparents who live far away;
  • show and read the printed book anywhere, including photos of it on social media.

You may not sell or publish the PDF (on a website, social media feed or file-sharing service), use the characters or pictures commercially, or use them to train or prompt an AI system. A preview PDF is given to you for checking the book; it is not a free copy if the order is cancelled.

12. Our liability

Subject to section 10, and as far as the law allows: we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made, or for business losses. Otherwise our total liability for an order is limited to the amount you paid for it. We do not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law (in the United Kingdom, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015).

13. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as carrier strikes, natural disasters, or a failure at our print partner’s facility. If this happens, we will tell you, and if your book is delayed by more than 30 days you can cancel for a full refund of anything not yet delivered.

14. Business buyers

Our shop is for consumers. If you buy in trade or for a business, then, to the extent permitted by law, the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply to the purchase (as its section 43 allows between businesses) and section 12’s limit applies to all loss. [KARAR: işletme alıcısı istisnası gerekli mi, NZ FTA s 5D koşulları]

15. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. If you live in another country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the place where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts or tribunals where you live. If something goes wrong, please email us first; most problems are quicker to fix by talking. In New Zealand you can also use the Disputes Tribunal; in Australia, your state or territory consumer affairs agency or tribunal; in the United Kingdom, the county court (or its equivalent in Scotland and Northern Ireland). [KARAR: A10 — tek hukuk seçimi US/CA'da tutar mı; UK'de ADR sağlayıcısı bildirimi gerekli mi]

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the law or our products change. The version that applies to your order is the one on this page when you paid.

17. Contact and notices

Email: [DOLDURULACAK: iletişim e-postası (pipleaf.com alınınca; T4)]. We normally reply within [KARAR: cevap süresi, öneri 2 iş günü — vaat]. We send notices about your order to the email address you gave at checkout; please check your spam folder for our preview emails.

WhatsApp. You can also message our WhatsApp line. It is answered first by an automated AI assistant, which can pass your question to our team. The assistant’s answers do not change these terms. Refunds, reprints and any exception to these terms are decided only by our team and confirmed to you in writing. Please don’t send photos on WhatsApp; see our Privacy Policy.
