About Pip Leaf
Pip Leaf makes picture books in two languages, with a child’s name in the story. We sell them from this website to families in US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Who we are
Pip Leaf is a trading name of Waka Digital Limited, a company registered in New Zealand.
Why two languages on one page
The school language is everywhere already. The home language often stays at home.
Children growing up between two languages hear one of them at school, on the street and on every screen, and most of the books that come into the house speak only that one. Pip Leaf puts the home language on the same page: one book, two languages, one child. Whoever reads it aloud, at bedtime or on a video call, finds their own words there.
How we make the books
- Written in English firstEach story starts as an English text, written for one age range.
- Translated from that textThe other language is translated from the English, and the translation is checked against it.
- Your child’s nameThe name you type goes on the cover and all through the story. For a personalised book, a preview PDF comes by email before printing.
- Printed when you orderOur print partner, Gelato, prints each book on demand and sends it to you. Nothing is printed until it’s ordered.
About AI
The stories are drafted and the pictures made with AI tools, then checked page by page. Etsy and Amazon ask sellers to declare the use of AI, and we always do.
AI is how we make the books, not what we sell: what arrives is a printed book with your child’s name in it.
